Design of Farm House at Panshet, Pune
Our farm house design project at Panshet had a special, slightly challenging brief. We had to design two holiday homes for two IT couples onto a single divided plot overlooking the Panshet Lake. And actually, it was more like a design challenge for us to fit and help them co-exist in harmony, but still maintain their individuality.
So, the site had two plots. Clients from the west plot wanted a contemporary farmhouse design with smaller, independent units. In contrast, the clients from the eastern plot aimed for a two-level home with independent living.
As for the design, we tried to shape everything as per the site’s natural contours. Like, we followed the site’s natural rhythm, maximized riverside views and tried to create hidden, unique vistas. We also planned gazebos, BBQ corners, and activity spots along the main slopes, and shared parking everywhere else. And thus, we could achieve a stark contrast as a whole. Like, we had a modular western home and an English Country eastern home all on the same site. Pretty interesting, right?
