Apartment Interiors at Wakad, Pune

Most Konkani houses are built close to the ground, right? But what if told you that you could have the same coastal vibes on the 12th floor as well? Well, yes! The Esprit architecture team has made it possible with this interior design project in Wakad. So, this one was for a young IT couple and their daughter who wanted a cultural-style home.

Hence, we tried to go ahead with the coastal Maharashtra concept w.r.t traditional Konkani architecture. We used typical elements like exposed brick, laterite stone and ornate wooden details, just like typical Maharashtrian houses. And then inside, we had decorative flooring patterns, wooden-beamed ceilings and basalt stone posts as well. We even added a subtle teak wood temple against the main brick-clad wall to anchor the TV unit rightly. Last but not the least, there’s a hint of the jharokha decor as well, just like classic wada interiors, making it stand out against all the other Wakad projects distinctively.
